RoboCupJunior

RoboCupJunior is an internationally organized educational initiative. The aim is to introduce young people to robots in a playful way, to awaken their interest in science and technology, and to enable exciting knowledge acquisition in the classroom. The hands-on component is important in RoboCupJunior. Therefore, the participants build and program small robots for special tasks and then show them in presentations and competitions.

For the sake of equal opportunity, there are two age groups:

  • Primaries with an age of 10-14 years
  • Secondaries with an age of 15-19 years

So that the whole thing is not only treated theoretically, national and international competitions are also organized every year, where the different teams can compete playfully but also get to know other schools, countries and cultures.

RoboCupJunior Austria supports teams and coaches in getting started with RoboCupJunior.

There are four different disciplines:

  • onStage – creative performance together with one or more robots
  • Rescue – robots search for victims of an accident
  • Soccer – self-built soccer robots play with each other
  • RoboCup@Home – robots perform household tasks
